Juxtaposts

A composite word from juxtapose and post. These are posts usually made up of a quick sketch and a snippet of text copied from a major newspaper such as the New York Times or the Guardian. The selection of the article is fairly random. The text is usually from the first or second paragraph. The sketch is not an illustration of the text. It is usually about more formal concerns and are done before the text is selected. The idea is to try to simultaneously capture more than just one dimension of the day at a time. Try to convey the day a little closer to how we experience it, surrounded by unrelated information, a patchwork that has many missing pieces but is nonetheless what gives us our individual reality.
